The training of the building users is crucial and should be part of the EPC installation phase. Role of the EPC facilitator should be to ensure the adequate training of the users and building managers.
We consider the M&V should be carried out by a third party. The specific plan we recommend to be decided after a negotiation with th potentially interested ESCOs.
Provided that the EPC will include measures both on the envelope and the systems of the building the pproject payback usually result to >10 years. The EPC duration will have to reach at least that period and possibly additional time following the warranty period of the equipment.
Our primary interest on EPC is to enable mixed funding between ERDF and private funds which will allow the realisation of a higher number of energy retroffiting projects of public buildings.
